The 2nd annual fishing derby was such a success this year! We had a blast! We had 44 kids participate with a lot of parents helping out. The Newark Sportsman Club was also the perfect setup. They were so great to work with! It was nice to connect with all the families and spend part of the day together!
We had a great night with everyone who came out and enjoyed Cole’s Camp night at the Kane County Cougars Game! Cori and Brent threw the first pitch to kick off the game. There was food, fun and laughter! It was a great game that went to 13 innings, but unfortunately the Cougars lost 9-6. It was fun connecting and meeting with new families and being back together!
We had another great hopeful healing yoga event this past Saturday!!! We enjoy it so much we booked a few more dates for the rest of the year!

Our hearts are so full as we held our first Hopeful Healing Yoga session. 13 women who have experienced the loss of a loved one gathered for a couple hours of yoga, relaxation, remembrance and fellowship. Thank you to Jessica Mitchell and Living Divina Yoga Studio for inviting us into your space, leading us to joy and offering us grace.

Many hours were spent preparing for the Superhero Challenge that was held on November 11th, 2018. Every partner, sponsor, family member, and friend made this event such a huge success! We are so grateful for everyone’s time and are truly blessed! We couldn’t have pulled this all together without the partnership of JC Health & Fitness and Go For It Sports Complex! Josh Chrestman, Mandy Denny, and Justine Brummell were all amazing to work with and we’re so lucky we get to call them friends! Thank you to all of you who sponsored this event, made donations, bought raffle tickets, attended in person or in spirit, sent prayers or messages of encouragement. Every single one of them received filled our hearts and together we are making a difference! Because of all of you, we were able to spend the day remembering our loved ones taken too soon, while raising money to support families who are or will be walking on a path of grief.
On August 30th, 2018, many gathered to help pack food for Feed My Starving Children in Aurora IL. This is our second event with Feed My Starving Children and it certainly won’t be our last! We enjoy it so much. Filling boxes and hearts at the same time!
